Four generations legacy
The family tradition is a distinct characteristic that makes us very proud and unique.
Our family business, pioneers in the shipping industry, was founded after the second world war. The first generation was dealing with the transport of goods on wooden ships from the mainland to the Adriatic islands. When the succession of generations took place, at the end of the sixties and the beginning of seventies, tourism gained importance and began to grow. Wooden ships known as “Trabakul” which were previously used to transport the goods were modified and adapted to transport tourists. The era of nautical tourism for Makaus family was about to begin.
Our family is one of the first families in this type of business and it can be considered as a pioneer in nautical tourism.
The high quality of our services combined with tradition is widely recognized. Today the company is successfully running setting sails to world markets where we are recognized as a reliable and professional company.
